As part of its commitment to becoming one of the leading higher education institutions in Indonesia, Institut Bisnis Nusantara (IBN) continues to expand its academic network at the international level. One of the concrete initiatives undertaken is a visiting lecturer program, recently carried out by Evy Roslita, an IBN lecturer, at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) on Thursday, April 30, 2026.
The activity took place at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEP) UNIMAS and was divided into two sessions. The first session focused on discussions regarding current research issues in the fields of management and finance, as well as opportunities for collaborative research between institutions. The second session consisted of a sharing and discussion session.
This initiative demonstrates that IBN not only emphasizes internal development but also actively builds cross-border collaborations to create a more enriching learning experience. In line with IBN’s tagline, “Bright Future, Starts Here,” this effort plays an important role in preparing students for a brighter and globally competitive future.
The discussion session was attended by delegates from UNIMAS, including the Dean of FEP UNIMAS, Prof. Dr. Dayang Affizzah, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, the Vice Dean for Collaboration, program coordinators, and several faculty members. From the Indonesian delegation, attendees included Prof. Agung Dharmawan Buchdadi, PhD, Professor at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) and Chairman of the Indonesian Financial Management Association (IFMA), Evy Roslita (IBN), Siti Ruhana Dara (Kalbis University), as well as Titis Fatarina and Monica (UNJ).
The discussion was conducted in a warm and enthusiastic atmosphere. It explored opportunities for research collaboration and community service collaboration between UNIMAS, IBN, other universities, and IFMA. Topics such as financial sustainability and financial technology emerged as key areas of interest at UNIMAS, particularly in relation to community service activities. These topics are also highly relevant to current developments in economics and business both in Indonesia and globally. At the end of the discussion, it was agreed that future visiting scholar programs should be further intensified.
In the subsequent sharing and discussion session, Evy Roslita and Siti Ruhana Dara were given the opportunity to share their knowledge, experiences, and teaching approaches with students at UNIMAS. The topic presented was “Indonesia’s Capital Market,” aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of the development of Indonesia’s capital market.
The presence of IBN lecturers in the international academic environment reflects the high quality of its human resources and further strengthens the institution’s position within the global education network. Through visiting lecturer programs at overseas universities, lecturers gain valuable experience in developing their professionalism. Interactions with students and academics from diverse backgrounds foster competency enhancement. These experiences can be brought back to IBN to enrich classroom learning, providing students with broader, more practical, and globally oriented educational experiences.
A bright future does not only begin in the classroom—it is also built through continuously expanding global connections and insights.
